Australia Retro Barsony Nude Black Lady Figurnie Lamp, she is seductively positioned on a piece of black timber with the classic white stripes surrounding the edge. With the Barsony trademark red lips & gold coloured earrings she also is stamped F-14 & is backlit by a single piece of white Perspex. Measurements approx. height 30cms to top of Perspex, base 16.5 x 23cms & figurine 20 x 24cms at her widest points. Sold in April 2009 for $470.99 (AUD) in Australia, this is a magnificent Barsony peice.

Beautiful Australia Barsony Ceramic Black Lady Head Lamp, she ispainted in a vibrant red with white, red and black flowers on the pole. Marked on the base H6 / B and sold recently in April 2009 for $338.65 (AUD) in Australia.

Australia Retro Barsony Black Banjo Player Lamp (FL-31)





This Australia Retro Barsony Black Banjo Player lamp and shade, it has all the original fittings, plug & is in working order. There are some small chips around his foot, Trouser leg & a tiny one on his chest, A couple of unnoticeable on the face, The horrible repair can be smoothed out some & painted black & it is very firm. The lovely old ribbon shade is made of satin & not plastic & I would describe it as in reasonable / good condition for its age. It does have some fading. When turned on at night the ruby coloured glow it gives off is very beautiful & all its faults are forgotten. It measures 46 cm to the top of the shade & 21 m to the top of the ceramic lamp. Marked on the base FL-31 and recently sold in March 2009 for $132.50 (AUD) in Australia.

When you here the word Barsony in Australia it may not be as popular as the more common term Black Lady Lamp. For the collector of antique or retro pieces, the name Barsony is well recognised.

The company Barsony Ceramics was in full operation in, the 1950’s to the 1970’s in Guildford west of Sydney, New South Wales. George Barsony was a sculptor who immigrated to Australia from Hungary in 1949, and established the company with his wife Jean.
